RNLI Letter of Thanks

Club Raffle

During the dinner a club raffle was held on behalf of the RNLI. Most of the prizes went to Clive, so no doubt ebay was buzzing later that evening! Altogether, the club collected £138 for the RNLI, letter of thanks can be seen posted above.

2012 Club Visit to the Diving Museum

The club is organising a special visit to the Diving Museum at Lee on Solent in 2012. The visit is being organised by Anita Hubbard and will have a finite number of places to fill, with some club sponsored transport. This is a unique opportunity to visit this museum that is not generally open to the public before April. If you are interested in coming along, contact Anita Hubbard to find out more.

Club Boat Maintenance

The club boat will be coming back to Salisbury for its annual maintenance and clean, which is scheduled for the 04th Feb 2012. It will be held at Graham's barn for this important event, which will provide good shelter for all. Please come along and support the club for this session to give the boat a bit of TLC before the season kicks off! For more details see either Graham Rose or Tony Simcock.

Diving Club Annual Dinner December 2011

The club's annual dinner was once more held at the Avon Brewery, in Salisbury. A good turnout from the club with 50 souls attending. End of year awards were presented, with a relatively new member, Clive Newmham, taking the covetted Big Fish Trophy. Clive achieved 47 club dives in 2011, this is not including several other dives with Andover club and some private dives. Clive is a dedicated diver, and is concentrating on improving his instructor skills and qualifications.

The APS Best Club Member Award, was once again presented to Martin Kite. Martin is the Training Officer, now in his 3rd year, and has been working extremely hard to fulfill the training needs of the club, as its ranks have swelled over the last 12 months. A closed vote was taken across the membership, and Martin's contribution to the club, was clearly recognised.

A further award was given to the Dive Marshal of the Year. The winner of this award was the individual who had organised and delivered the most amount of Club Dives. This year the Award went to Kay Barnes, who is also new to this activity last season.
